betray the hapless lover

i know thou doo&039;st to despair,

nor wilt, nor canst relieve ;

but, o eliza, hear one prayer—

for pity&039;s sake five !

the ic of thy voice i heard,

nor wist while it ensv&039;d ;

i saw the eyes, yet nothg fear&039;d,

till fears no ore had sav&039;d :
