farewell, thou strea that dg flows
around eliza&039;s dwellg;
o &039;ry! spare the cruel thoes
with y bo swellg
nden&039;d to drag a hopeless cha
and yet secret nguish;
to feel a fire every ve,
nor dare disclose y anguish
love&039;s veriest wretch, unseen, unknown,
i fa y griefs would ver;
the burstg sigh, th&039; unweetg groan,
betray the hapless lover
i know thou doo&039;st to despair,
nor wilt, nor canst relieve ;
but, o eliza, hear one prayer—
for pity&039;s sake five !
the ic of thy voice i heard,
nor wist while it ensv&039;d ;
i saw the eyes, yet nothg fear&039;d,
till fears no ore had sav&039;d :
